It doesn't take an ancient philosopher to figure out that if you hire a contractor with experience and a good reputation - a proven track record - you'll get a pretty good end result. But likely that project will cost you more than the project you purchase from Joe who operates from a pickup.

Over the 26 years we've operated from Southfield Michigan and worked with thousands of homeowners, we've heard many horror stories.
The worst was the Southfield woman who hired one individual to build a patio shade room on the back of her home: The contractor individual has had two heart attacks and a few other unlikely events delay her project. She's looked at her Anderson Doorwalls leaned up against the side of her garage for THREE YEARS! And because the contractor did do the concrete slab and put the sill tracks in before or between one of the heart attacks, she is able to collect lots of water (like a bowl) right outside her back door.
Another Berkley women told us how she hired another contractor individual (with a good reputation) for her basement project but wished she would have hired us. You see individual had a drug addiction and ended up in jail during her project. He was professional and hired another individual to continue her work. That person was inexperienced and made quite a mess of things including leaving live wires in her walls. When it was all said and done she had to pay a contractor company to finish the project and the project cost her quite a bit more. She said she wished she would have just hired us in the beginning.
