You don't have to have a job to benefit from a home office.  Manage your personal bills, kids homework projects, even your book collection with a well-designed, acoustically beneficial home office in your lower level!  Anyone who enjoys the internet can enjoy a private, comfortable workspace without the glare of a nearby window.

Staying in touch with your office is easier when your office is in the basement!  You save wasted time spent in commute (and sitting in traffic) but it does take self control to keep from bringing the hassles of work into your home life.  The Journal of Marriage and Family found that family satisfaction declines when people regularly use cell phones and pagers, according to a study of 1,367 couples.  You can remove the strain on your family relationships by being present in spirit as well as body after working hours.  For starters, let non-emergency calls go to voicemail and pick them up after your kids go to sleep.  Sounds like good advice whether you work from home or not!  Remember our basement finishing system blocks about 85% of sound making your office quieter (from noises in the home) and keeps your office conversations private!
